CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Ian has 25 years of real estate experience of investing in and managing many different types of real estate in Asia Pacific and Europe, across multiple cycles and through rapidly changing market environments. He has held senior executive positions in global real estate institutional investors and fund management groups such as Aviva Investors in Asia Pacific and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership in Europe. Ian founded and is the Chief Executive Officer of GreenPlace Assets. The company’s activities and purpose reflects his passion to integrate sustainability with astute real assets investing and advisory to deliver strong market‐based returns.
Ian has extensive experience across the real estate industry value chain including deal origination, asset management, fund management, investment strategy, business development and client origination and management. He has a track record of both astute investing and as an entrepreneurial business executive. Between 2007 and 2015 he built a successful real estate fund management business to $US 2 billion Assets under Management on behalf of Aviva Investors in Asia. He was Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific Real Estate and a Board Director of Aviva Investors Asia. Across Asia, Ian has successfully invested and managed assets in China, India, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
CHIEF SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER
Stuart possesses inter-related skills across the built environment sustainability and real estate investment sectors. This includes real estate investment and investment advisory, built environment energy efficiency, sustainable cities, project management, urban design and landscape architecture. His mission has been to assemble experience across the spectrum of disciplines that are required for optimisation of sustainable investment and built environment endeavours. Consequently, at both the macro and micro levels he seeks to positively affect financial profitability, along with the planet, its inhabitants and its ecosystems.
Stuart is a member of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA) Sustainability Roundtable and acts as the Co-Chair of Sustainable Financial Markets (SFM) Real Assets Working Group. He holds close collaborative relationships with senior leadership of major actors within the sustainable investment and real estate sectors and is known as a leader of change in sustainable asset investment and advisory.
Stuart possesses 17 years of experience in company direction and operational management, business development and client account leadership in addition to his technical experience in the real estate and built environment sectors. Prior to co-founding GreenPlace Assets, Stuart served most recently as Director at KPMG, Chief Executive Officer (and Co-founder) of Project Group Asia, Director at Cushman and Wakefield, and Project Director at ISG Asia. Prior, he worked in roles of project management, urban design and landscape architecture for both private practices and government.
